Work Environment/Work Week/Travel:Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment or in work sites. Work performed during standard business hours; overtime may be necessary based on business needs.Position Summary InformationPrimary PurposeThe Vocational Services Program Director is responsible for developing, evaluating, coordinating all vocational services provided by the Community Re-Entry Program for San Joaquin County Mental Health consumers through enclave work crews working within the community.Position has identified one-year funding. Continuation of this position is based on availability of funds.Essential Functions

  • Responsible for implementation of all existing services in accordance with goals and objectives of the vocational services programs of the Community Re-Entry Program.
  • Designs and develops vocational program for new work sites.
  • Provides direct supervision to three Job Coaches and one Vocational Behavior Specialist.
  • Responsible for the oversight, direction and implementation of enclave services provided by thirty to fifty (30 - 50) paid and volunteer individuals.
  • Responsible for reporting and communicating with funding source agencies on administrative and clinical concerns.
  • Responsible for the development, evaluation and approval of intervention plans recommended by the Job Coaches.
  • Responsible for the tracking, monitoring and maintenance of client clinical records and program expenses.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.Minimum Qualifications
    • Bachelors Degree in Psychology, Education or related fields.
    • Two (2) years' work experience in Human Services.Preferred Qualifications
      • One (1) year experience in a supervisory role.
      • Experience completing behavioral assessments and interventions.
      • Strong professional, ethical and leadership skills.
      • Strong oral and written communication skills when supervising and providing feedback to staff and clients.
      • Strong skills in clearly articulating performance roles, project goals and timelines.
      • Demonstrated ability in effective time management, managing deadlines and tasks for themselves and direct reports.
      • Demonstrated ability to form positive relationships with clients.
      • Positive attitude, proven ability to work successfully with diverse populations and demonstrated commitment to promote and enhance diversity and inclusion.
      • Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.
      • Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting.
      • Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.Physical RequirementsThe physical demands described here are representative but not definitive of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.         • Ability to pass background/sanction checks for the funding agency(ies).
        • Must pass TB test.
        • Valid driver's license required. Incumbent must also be able to meet the University's fleet rules and be eligible to drive for University business.
